Selfish and worthless, the scum latch on
They aspire to suck the land dry
Nothing is given in return
There is no reverence for the gifts of the earth

Gnawing and biting, they rip at her flesh
They tear down the forests, no stone left unturned
Colonies are built and continue to spread
They will keep growing until there is nothing left

A festering wound
Infected, and spreading
Replicate and consume
There’s no tend to this scourge

Producing heirs to continue their lines
This swarm of ruin presses on
Overpopulating and consuming
With the ferocity of locust, they devour

Feeding and seizing, their hunger is insatiable
No consequence considered for the devastation
The system begins to collapse

Reproducing without consideration
The natural order comes under strain
Resources have become depleted
But they are replaced and the cycle endures
